John & Gill Wedding, St James Coundon and The Majestic Theatre, Darlington
John & Gill had a very different theme for their wedding day. They chose a 1950’s wedding theme, all guests were instructed to dress in the style of the 50’s and it was great to see everyone get into the part, guests looked amazing.
The wedding ceremony took place at St. James Church in Coundon, close to Bishop Auckland, County Durham. The church is tucked away from the road, and inside the church, it has one of the most amazing ceiling decorations. As seen in the image gallery below, the ceiling is painted a deep blue and has little stars painted all over in gold. The church has a very warm feeling even though it has its traditional features and the church being 143 years old.
After the ceremony, as it was raining, we had group photos indoors with the beautiful church backdrop.
We then went on to the newly refurbished Majestic Theatre in Darlington. The former cinema has been restored with an art deco theme and held its grand re-opening on 4th June 2016, and I’ve got to say the theatre looks amazing.
All the guests arrived and I waited downstairs for the bride and groom to arrive. We then went upstairs to the bar area and the guests welcomed the newly married bride and groom. Everyone mingled and chatted, I moved around the room taking photos of the guests, then we had the cutting of the cake.
I ended my photography with the first dance in which the bride and groom had put together a dance. The first dance took place in the grand theatre, and it looked amazing.
