St. Cuthberts Church, High Etherley Wedding Photography

Steve and Jasmin’s wedding photographer had to cancel a week before their wedding day. I stepped in at short notice, had a consultation immediately with Steve and Jasmin and discussed what they would like in terms of style and events covered for their wedding photography. The ceremony took place at St. Cuthberts Church in High Etherley, Bishop Auckland.  St. Cuthberts has a gorgeous gated entrance with a long paved walk to the church lined with trees either side.  It was a gorgeous day, the sun shining perfectly through the trees onto the church. Inside the church, there was a lovely soft light, and the church a perfect cosy location.

The church isn’t a huge church, but the smallness of the church creates a cosy feel.  It has two short isles down each side with pews to either side, and long central pews in the middle of the two isles.

Steve & Jasmin sat at the front of the church facing their loved ones as the Vicar read from the order of service.  Steve & Jasmin where then invited to stand and say their vows to each other.  They exchanged wedding rings and the Vicar gave her blessing.

We then went outside for group photos.  It’s always best for a wedding photographer to get everyone together first before people leave early or wander off into groups, so that they can get a photo of the wedding party so the bride and groom can look back and see who was at their wedding.  After the wedding party photo, it’s the close family photos and then lastly just the bride and groom so that they can have some time alone from the busy day and have some more intimate photos.
